El Refugio
This animal refuge is located in Puerto Real. This is the pound where lost animals may end up. To see their animals, visit www.prodean.com and click on "Adopciones Urgentes." You can reach them by phone at 956-83-4175.
 Boarding & Kenneling Services
Presently, Naval Station Rota does not have kenneling services on-base, and boarding is difficult to find off-base. Fortunately, the Navy Lodge now allows its customers to keep a pet in their rooms when PCSing into or out of Rota. If you will be traveling without your pet, you best option may be to find a pet sitter. Many teenagers on base work as pet sitters and will happily come to your home to care for your pet or keep your pet at their home. A list of pet sitters cannot be published because of base security guidelines, but you might ask your neighbors, friends, or staff at the Youth Center or school.

Rota Naval Station Veterinary Treatment Facility
Offers preventative care including vaccinations and de-worming, health certificates, microchip implanting, x-rays and laboratory examinations, and sick call appointments. Surgery services include spays, neuters, de-claw, dental, and mass removals. Various over-the-counter products can be purchased such as parasite control, shampoos, and dental care supplies.

Dr. Sandra is a dedicated and caring veterinarian who works on-base for the Veterinary Clinic, and operates her own clinic and 24-hour pet emergency service off-base.

Exit the base through the Rota gate, and go straight through the first traffic circle. Go straight (a soft right) through the next traffic circle, passing a schoolyard on your right. Turn right on Avenida Principes de España after Miguel Rent-a-car. Go through the first stoplight, and start looking for parking on this street. The clinic is on the eastern corner of the next intersection with a stoplight (on the left).
